Optical performance

Insertion loss and return loss measured per fiber at 1310/1550 nm for single mode and 850/1300 nm for multi mode.

End-face inspection

Every ferrule is checked under magnification against IEC 61300-3-35 for scratches, pits and contamination.

Geometry and polish

Interferometer checks of radius of curvature, apex offset and fiber height keep mated connectors in physical contact.

Polarity and traceability

MPO polarity is verified end to end, and each cable carries a serial number that matches its test report.

Questions buyers ask.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No. You can order a single cable. Volume pricing starts automatically at 10 pieces of the same configuration.

What's the difference between a simple and a split cable?

A simple cable has the same fiber count on both ends, like an MPO-to-MPO trunk or a duplex LC-to-SC cord. A split cable (also called a breakout or fanout) starts as one multi-fiber connector and splits into several legs, like one 12-fiber MPO into 12 LC connectors.

Which polarity and pin gender do I need?

For duplex cords, A-to-B is the standard. For MPO trunks, match the polarity method (Type A, B or C) used by your cassettes and transceivers. MPO equipment ports and cassettes usually have pins (male), so trunks between them are typically female on both ends. If you're unsure, send us the part numbers on each end and we'll confirm.

What do LSZH, OFNR and OFNP mean?

They're fire ratings for the cable jacket. LSZH gives off low smoke and no halogens, and is standard for data centers and most indoor use. OFNR (riser) is rated for vertical runs between floors. OFNP (plenum) is the highest rating, required in air-handling spaces such as raised floors and drop ceilings in many buildings.

How long does a custom build take?

Most configurations ship within 5 working days. Large volume orders get a confirmed date when you place the order.

Should I choose single mode or multi mode?

Match whatever your transceivers and existing plant use. Single mode is the choice for long runs and telecom; multi mode is common for short data center links. If you're unsure, check the transceiver label or send us the part number.

Can I get a test report for each cable?

Yes, and it's included at no charge. Every cable ships serialized with insertion loss, return loss and end-face results for each fiber.
